Proposed new hall for church and community use
We have planning consent to build a new hall at St Mildred’s Church. Our vision is that the building will be a blessing to the community around us by providing space for services and activities that will be of direct benefit to those who live and work in our area. The building will available for hire by local charities, businesses and individuals, with the expectation that priority will be given to users who seek to benefit the local community.
The South Circular location of St Mildred’s Church is ideal for a “community hub”. The Church is ten minutes walk from Lee station (national rail) and is served by the 160, 202, 261 and 273 bus routes. There is also some car parking on site, which will include EV charging facilities when the new building is complete.
The proposed new hall will have a total area of over 650m2, making it twice as big as the old (now demolished) hall which it replaces. It will be fully accessible and welcoming to those of all faiths and none. The new building will be available for hire independently from the church, but it is also designed to be used with the church building in a fully integrated manner.
Hirers will have the option of booking the whole of the hall building (subject to availability) or individual rooms/facilities. The space and facilities available will include:
